spending the night on the brickman tour bus
1:10 am thurs morn (wed night)
On the road to Hershey, PA from New Albany, OH. There’s pizza on the bus, thanks to an inspiration of Ben. There are occasional outbursts of laughter and a fairly loud general roar, judging by the sound in my bunk coming through the closed front cabin door. But the door opens every once in a while when someone comes back to their bunk to grab their laptop, or someone goes to the back lounge to grab their toothbrush from their backpack. Then you can actually hear some bits of conversations for about 10 or 15 seconds. Anne is telling someone about her aunt’s cashew brittle that isn’t really her aunt’s but someone who…that was all I got, and that wasn’t easy because sean was telling someone a story about a dog and a set of golf clubs or something. it really doesn’t matter what sean is talking about, you want to see how it’s going to turn out, so it was hard to grab too much of either conversation.
Then the door shuts again. Someone tramps past as quietly as they can, and I think, I really should put some music on these amazing noise cancelling headphones that my wife, with inspirational foresight, knew I would cherish. Those things are great on a bus. That would go on the list of most useful xmas presents ever, maybe 4 years ago?
That’s kind of what it sounds like from a bunk on the bus.
New Albany was fun. Ben is a blast. I’m already starting to see worrisome signs of last show antics, but I could be mistaken…

update. I recent trip to the facilities has revealed that only joel, anya, sean and clayton remain in the front lounge. Pizza appears to be finished.
