Orchestral Performances: The Dharma at Big Sur
7/4/2008 8:54:54 PM - The Dharma at Big Sur
Concerto for Amplified Violin
Composer: John Adams

"Tracy Silverman combines a classical technical assurance with a jazzer's style and a rocker's dynamism. For many this could be an ideal mix of classic depth with commercial immediacy." HMV Reviewers Choice

The Dharma At Big Sur was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic for premire during the opening celebrations for Walt Disney Concert Hall. A new recording of the work with Tracy Silverman as soloist was released by Nonesuch Records on September 26, 2006 and debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Classical Charts.
